In addition to the vital records of Norwich, this version
contains inscriptions from gravestones in the old burying ground
located in Norwich Town, Connecticut. These inscriptions were collected
by Mr. George Porter of Norwich over a hundred years ago. It should
be noted that some of the graves mentioned can no longer be found
because the cemetery fell into disrepair and remained so for many
years, suffering irreparable damage. It is now in pristine condition
and a most beautiful place to visit.
